Shared Much, Heard Much

Aesthetic beauty is one of the main things every art piece contains, knowingly or unknowingly, to the artist and to audiences. I think it's part of the Creator's vision in making the universe and our planet Earth. Our birth, to me, is a visa to visit that vision. We're fortunate to admire nature and creation, in our own environments and beyond, through art and through technology. Without the environment staying intact, we can't survive on this planet, our home for now.

The urgency is this: shared much, heard much, but not adhered to.

Using plastic we've trashed as waste, collected from the ocean, in my work now, is my way of adding my voice to the activists and ocean lovers already doing this, and of drawing in the audiences who haven't found it yet. These plastics have their own character. They more than qualify as a creative medium. Some of the pieces I've made combining acrylic and plastic exist to show that urgency plainly: these beautiful oceans are being polluted beyond measure, and the same lives we depend on in the sea are carrying that plastic into their bodies, and into ours.
